Description
A scarce and highly collectible bootleg pressing of Led Zeppelin’s legendary September 4, 1970 concert at the Los Angeles Forum. Pressed by Rubber Dubber Records, one of the first underground bootleg labels, this 2xLP captures Zeppelin at their explosive early peak and represents an important artifact from the dawn of vinyl bootlegging.
Rubber Dubber issues were sold in small quantities at record fairs and by mail order in the early 1970s, often in minimalist sleeves with plain text and rubber-stamped logos. Surviving originals, especially those with ticket stubs mounted, are coveted by collectors for their rarity and historical significance.
This set includes both LPs with light blue labels, the original jacket with mounted Forum ticket stub, and one original paper sleeve.
Condition
-
Vinyl (Sides 1 & 2): Crack with loss along edge, along with scratches, scuffs, and groove wear. Labels show surface loss but remain readable.
-
Vinyl (Sides 3 & 4): Light scratches and scuffs visible under bright light. Some longer marks noted. Labels intact with minor wear.
-
Inner Sleeves: One original brown paper sleeve included, heavily toned with staining, creasing, small corner tear, and splitting. A modern replacement sleeve accompanies the set for added protection.
-
Cover (Front): Displays heavy wear overall with edgewear, ringwear, staining, and discoloration. Bold printed text and Rubber Dubber logo remain legible.
-
Cover (Back): Heavy foxing, discoloration, and staining across surface. Noticeable edge and corner wear, along with flaking and small losses. Lower corner features a printed guarantee notice typical of Rubber Dubber issues.
-
Spine/Gatefold Interior: Gatefold seams show splitting and wear, interior panels are toned with staining and general discoloration.
-
Ticket Stub: Partial stub remains mounted to the front cover. Edges show fraying, creases, and surface wear, with some loss on the right side where the stub was torn. Printing is still legible, including “Led Zeppelin,” “Forum,” section/row/seat information, and the original ticket price of $7.25. Some discoloration and light surface cracking present but overall intact for its age.
Though showing significant age-related wear, this remains a complete and original Rubber Dubber set with both records, cover, ticket stub, and one original sleeve. Highly desirable as one of the earliest Zeppelin bootlegs ever produced, and a true piece of rock history.
