Description
We are pleased to present this antique Henry Wigfull Napkin Ring for your consideration. Fully hallmarked, the Napkin Ring is made of Sterling Silver and dates to 1899. It has a frilly, ruffled edge with a smooth area in the center for a monogram, which has not been used.
The Napkin Ring is 1-5/8 inches in diameter, with a band width of 1 inch. It weighs 12.7 grams. It is hallmarked on the outside surface (see last picture) with maker mark H.W., city code Sheffield, and date code 1899.
Wear is minimal and the piece could pass for new, despite the 110+ years of age! There are a few tiny spots of tarnish. There is no damage or repairs, and we rate the overall condition as very good to excellent.
This is a nice example of a late nineteenth century Sterling Silver Napkin Ring, by one of Sheffield’s well known silversmiths. It would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
