JUAN CASTELLS MARTI, born in 1906, created this set of FOUR woodblock engravings in the 1940’s.  All four are original woodblocks that have been hand tinted with watercolor.  Each of the images represents a different folk dance native to each of four regions in Spain.  They are:

MUINERIA – Galicia
BULERIAS – Andalucia
JOTA – Aragonesa  (signed by the artist)
BOLERO – Mallorca

You may find one or two of these for sale individually.  This is a beautiful set of four.  Each image measures 7-3/4″ x 6″.  Each frame (all gold with red undertones) measures 13-3/4″ x 10-1/8″.  All of these are original woodblock engravings in original frames. “JOTA – ARGONESA” is the only one actually SIGNED by the artist.
All are in good, original condition.  One has a small break in the glass; lower right corner, if you’d like to replace the glass.
