We have here another wonderful find in this Delightful Antique Armand Marseille Doll.
She stands about 16 inches tall and weighs in at a tad over 10 ounces.
This lovely little creation appears to have been crafted with a Bisque Head and Hands and a stuffed kid body. Her pretty little dark eyes open and close and her little teeth have been very finely executed. The Auburn Reddish hair frames her very sweet face.
Armand Marseille started his company in Germany in 1865 however, it was not until 1885 that dolls were made there. These Dolls were produced between 1885 to 1930.
Although difficult to photograph, we have done our very best to capture for your inspection, the Armand Marseille inscribed information on the back of her neck/upper back area. We have been told by a very knowledgeable collector that she is probably a Number 370 or 390 and that Florodora was a very popular pretty name used for the Armand Marseille Dolls.
Considering how many years she has behind her, we feel that she is in very nice “as found” condition with no obvious or major areas of wear except the age-related surface wear which is always anticipated in Antique Dolls.
Just her a bit of tender loving care and this little treasure will soon be be a beautiful addition to your Antique Doll collection or for that of the Doll collector in your life.
In addition, this is a Fantastic Investment in an Exquisite Armand Marseille Doll from another era which is sure to continue increasing in value as more and more time goes by!
