We have here another wonderful find in this charming Antique White French Enamelware Coffee Biggin.
This early French piece stands about 11 inches tall, measured to top of cover’s knob and has a diameter, measured at its base of about 5 1/2 inches. We believe it dates back in time to the early 1900’s.
Although it has seen many years of enjoyable use and exhibits much wear – it is really this ‘chippy’ look we all love in our Enamelware and country cooking pieces. We have tried to present numerous views showing the general antique ‘dings’ and surface wear.
The White Enamel still maintains a good deal of its original high finish. There is also a little of the original gold trimming remaining – not really very much – but just enough to give us a sense of what it might have looked like in the French country kitchen about 100 years ago
There are a couple tiny pinholes at the bottom of the pot. These could be repaired, if you would like to fill it with water occasionally, or it can display beautifully, as is. Just give it a gentle cleaning – and – Enjoy!
This Beautiful old French Enamelware Coffee Biggin is certainly a great find and should be lovely addition to your collection. It can only continue increasing in value as more and more time goes by bringing you many compliments and a great deal of pleasure.
